Bill Prohibits Convicted Arsonists from being Firefighters

House Bill 2329 has passed the house and moved to the Senate this week. The bill prohibits anyone convicted of arson from serving as a regular or volunteer firefighter.
Is this a problem? In researching this there are not a lot of instances where arsonists are hired as firefighters. It seems that would show up in the background check.
